Hello, You are so Wonderful to Click Here! If you’ve come to make a donation you can immediately jump below to the green buttons. If you’ve come to learn a bit about this wonderful charity, you can either watch my little video that explains a bit about it or you can visit the official description of this charity at the website of bestselling author and founder of the charity, Philippa Gregory. Of course, you could do both if you like.
I hope I have been able to touch your heart in some little way concerning this purest of charities.
Or... Maybe your heart has been touched in a big way? If so, following your heart tends to be a pretty good policy.
If you would like to help in another way, perhaps in addition to or in place of a direct donation, consider linking to this website in order to spread the word. Consider a community fund raiser to help a fellow Gambian community. It would be fun to link up the two communities. Schools are obviously ideal but a neighbourhood or any other social organization would also do well. The thought occurred to me that instead of traditional Secret Santa exchanges during Christmas, schools might do better to teach the children the true spirit of giving by pitching in together to donate a well for one school in The Gambia. Instead of each kid spending $10 on useless trinkets for their schoolmates who already have more than they need, they could each donate only a couple of dollars (or pounds or euros) to donate something essential to children that do need. Again, what a wonderful way to teach of the true spirit of giving. Somebody at the head of a school board or with some political clout could run with that idea and literally in one day, convert The Gambia into a self sustaining country where every child had a healthy thriving diet. Let’s not wait for orders from a president to tell us how to fix the world. We already know how. We just need to care a little bit. Philippa came up with the idea of contacting seed houses. Sometimes the seeds are too old to sell, yet are still productive. Perhaps someone would like to organize such a collection of non-hybridized seeds so seeds may be saved for next year’s planting. Sustainable is the name of the game here. I imagine some of the heirloom seed houses would be especially helpful here as they already conduct themselves as responsible stewards of this Earth. Contact me and I can provide a shipping address directly in the Gambia. Perhaps we could reimburse you the shipping costs. That would be a wonderful project to head up for some industrious, caring soul. This is What Philippa had to say... In an interview Philippa was asked what she considered her greatest achievement to be. After all the best selling books, fame and fortune she has acquired, this was her answer: If someone were to ask me what my proudest achievement is today, it would be that I cared enough to put forth a little bit of effort to help Gardens for The Gambia in the best way I know how. You too, can feel this very wonderful feeling of accomplishment. Simply find a way to get involved. If you are already doing something wonderful to feel very proud of, then kudos to you. If not, here is your opportunity. Don’t let life pass you by so that you feel like Mr. Schindler at the end of the movie Schindler’s List--- crying because even though he was a hero and did much good saving lives, he could have done so much more. Don’t let this opportunity pass you by.
